Dog Bite, Personal InjuryA 74-year-old Putnam County resident died last week after being attacked by two dogs.

Roy McSweeney was taken to Shands at the University of Florida following an attack by two dogs that belonged to his next door neighbor, Deanna Blitch.

McSweeney was working in the yard of the home he rented with his wife Sharon at the time of the attack early Friday morning.

The dogs, which were described as pit bulls or pit bull mixes, were euthanized soon after the dog bite attack.

McSweeney's family and Robert Floyd intend to file a personal injury lawsuit against Blitch. Floyd, the caretaker for McSweeney's home was also bitten by the dogs during the attack.

In February, Floyd filed suit against Blitch and her boyfriend Beau Scurry after he was bitten by the same dogs on January 13, 2010.

The suit alleges that Blitch and her boyfriend knew or should have known that the dogs were vicious and they failed to properly restrain them.

Floyd's lawsuit states that he has experienced pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses, and loss of the ability to earn money.
